Seguru was founded in 2021 during a time of global upheaval. In Australia through COVID, and in the United States during and after the 2020 elections, we saw organizations, businesses, and individuals suddenly cut off from the digital lifelines they relied on. They were deplatformed, locked out of accounts, or denied services — not because they broke the law, but because their views or products didn’t align with the policies of powerful corporations or the political climate of the day.

We believed then, and still believe now: that’s not how the web should work.

We also believe in accountability. We respect the laws of the jurisdictions we operate in, and we will not host content that is illegal or designed to cause real harm. But beyond that line, we see it as our role to protect your right to exist and be heard online. You don’t need to agree with us, and we don’t need to agree with you. That’s the strength of an open web.

You Own Your Data
Your data is your lifeblood. Too many platforms treat it as theirs to exploit, gatekeep, or lock away. We believe you should always know where it is, how it’s stored, and who has access to it. Ownership means freedom: freedom to move, to adapt, and to build without fear of being trapped by hidden limits or predatory contracts.
We’re Against Deplatforming
Ideas thrive when they can be expressed, challenged, and improved in the open. No organization should live under the constant threat that a faceless corporation or opaque algorithm could silence their work overnight. We design and host systems that minimize this risk, so your voice and your mission are not at the mercy of someone else’s platform.
Plan for the Worst
Storms come — technical, political, and cultural. Pretending otherwise is reckless. We build with redundancy, backups, and contingencies because the cost of failure is always higher than the investment in preparation. Planning for the worst is how you create the space to focus on your best work.
